The Nominations are in: Hardest Working Artist!

“I don’t know how you are doing all of this.” Is something I heard over this past week during SXSW but also in the last few years as I’ve embarked on my Christmas venture.

Things I’ve done on behalf of my Christmas Adventures:

• Composed over 350 original holiday songs in the past 3 years.
• Produced 2 EPs in less than a year from each other.
• Produced 2 music videos, including the infamous Times Square one.
• Dragged THOUSANDS of ornaments in and around the streets of New York City multiple times last year in the dead of summer.
• Inflated and deflated a blow up swimming pool to encase above mentioned ornaments.
• Flown several thousand miles internationally to strike new deals that are yet to be announced.
• Met with hundreds of people all over the world in hopes to find and hire the right ally’s in my journey.
• Solicited venture capital and crowd funding to help provide working capital for my Christmas venture.
• Founded Merry Bright Music Enterprises
• Designed, written, produced the website, the music packaging the EPK’s, One Sheets, T-Shirts, Ornaments, Kickstarter…
• Booked, performed and tour managed my first ever tour last December.
• Landed a #7 Spot on Billboard last December, despite all the odds against me.

To say I’ve sacrificed a lot of personal and professional sanity in an effort to chase my dream is sort of an understatement. This includes making the decision to forgo the things many of my friends get to explore, like buying my first home or having my first child.

That is why, I am so proud that Merry Bright Music and I have received and been recognized for FOUR semi-finalist nominations from the The American Association of Independent Music Libera Awards!!!

They include:
1. HARDEST WORKING ARTIST AWARD!!!! (Woot!)
2. Up and Comer Artist Award
3. Label of the Year Award (Under 5 persons)
4. Creative Packaging Award (Andy Fraley)

I’m going to lobby very hard for The Hardest Working Artist award this one is the one I would like very much. To make sense of all the insanity I’ve been through in the last year. So any and all of my friends who are part of A2IM – I am looking for your support!!!!!

Sometimes when the road is tough, it’s hard to see the forest from the trees. When I take a step back and a deep breath – I realize how blessed I am. This has been an extraordinary journey. I would not want it any other way.

And with that no time to rest on my laurels, my journey continues.
