Everyday Holidays Album Cover

Elizabeth Chan Everyday Holidays cover

::Drumroll Please::
You are looking at the brand spanking new album cover for “Everyday Holidays” my upcoming record and first imprint off of the Merry Bright Music Record Label!

I have spent A LOT of time studying holiday album covers. They are ALL THE SAME. An artist wearing a heavy warm article of clothing, with or without fur, set against a white washed snowy backdrop – looking far into the distance for Santa Claus, with maybe a present in their hands. BLEH. Makes me gag.

I never want to put out a holiday cover that looks and feels like every other album cover. However, I got a lot of flack for also deciding not to be on my album cover last year.

The one thing I knew about this album cover is that I’m very loyal to this particular font that I’ve found and used on the last record. 🙂

This year the inspiration for the record is to curate an EP that spans through the holiday season! I wanted to reflect a cover that has notes of Christmas, but feels like a holiday party.

I’ve become pretty adept at dragging around Christmas trees and ornaments around NYC, but I have always been artistically inspired by Warhol’s Silver Clouds balloon room in Pittsburgh. The installation was always so beautiful and fun. I wanted to come up with a reason to play around in balloons for a living – and this album cover was a perfect excuse! I hope you love it as much as I do 🙂
