“A Christmas Song” Acoustic & Thanksgiving Segment!

Elizabeth Chan rehearses for record release party

Rehearsing for my record release party

I was watching Saturday Night Live this weekend and Christina Applegate did an opening monologue about how this part of October is the only holiday-less time of the year. It made me laugh but it also made me pretty nervous. Since launching my EP, I’ve been taking it a bit easy for the first time in a year – gearing up for what’s to come at the end of the year and in the new year. So many amazing things have come my way in the last few weeks. I am humbled and blessed to be living a life is at the core of my heart but also is still challenging to me everyday.

Today my band and I are heading into the studio to record a special version of, “A Christmas Song.” During my record release party a few weeks ago, we did an acoustic set of songs off my EP and they were amazing. I decided it would be great to capture “A Christmas Song” in this vein.

Not only are we capturing “A Christmas Song” sonically, the session will also be taped for a local evening news broadcast, set to air around Thanksgiving (set your DVRs)!

A lot has happened to me in the past few weeks, after releasing my record, We wrapped shooting for “Failure Club,” which put a close to being documented for a year. The ending was bittersweet as the opportunity has truly changed my life. Morgan told our cast that “Failure Club” would be re-edited into 30 minute episodes for television, which was exciting to hear. My song, “A Christmas Song,” will receive radio airplay in Duluth, Minnesota! Which I am incredibly humbled by. I’ve been reached out to by Rachael Ray, and will be featured in her magazine website. Yesterday, I started preparing for a pretty big audition in January that if I nail it, could help me get my Christmas music out to more people. Not to mention, we started production and auditions for my second music video, “Vixen.”

So yes, it is not even Christmas yet. Yet, I feel like this whole year has been a huge Christmas present for the soul. Just because the music is out… certainly does not mean the work is over!!!!
