Christmas in July: Life and music on the road

I’m excited and elated, but I cannot believe that it is JULY!

Quite frankly, it is because I’ve been traveling since January on all sorts of Christmas adventures. After this weekend, I will finally have a chance to rest a bit easier at home and enjoy celebrating my favorite holiday… no.. not July 4th but Christmas in July ๐Ÿ™‚

As I am typing this I’m sitting in the airline lounge at the Nashville International Airport, with the final mixes of my upcoming holiday record this year! ๐Ÿ™‚ I got to work with some of my favorite musicians and friends in my hometown of New York City, and finished up the rest of the record with some new friends right here in Nashville. Having never recorded in Nashville before I was so impressed and humbled by the talent here. The musicians, producers and studios in Nashville are so inspiring and have such a historical pride in the work and music business – it is quite infectious and parts of my new record will reflect that.

This record and songs I’ve written so far this year will reflect the world and travels I’ve been so lucky to experience. So far I’ve been to Cannes, Austin, Toronto, Singapore, Hong Kong, Manilla and Nashville meeting both new and old friends on this extraordinary adventure. I’ve been really blessed to have met some new friends in my journey, all over the world – who have and will be a major part of my Christmas road ahead in a truly significant way.

There is one song on my upcoming record that I feel truly reflects who I am as an artist and a writer. It was a song I would sing to myself all over the world, as I’d be struggling through different timezones with nothing more than my American dream. This song is the one I am most excited to share with the world because as I jump on this next airplane, its one that I often play for myself to remind me why I work so hard for my dream. In a way its not only a Christmas song but a love song. You’ll see … ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’ve got some truly exciting news and SUPER MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENTS to share in the next few days & weeks and if you follow me on Instagram you wouldn’t believe the kind of Christmasy things I encounter on my day to day. It truly is always around me and I often believe its the universe’s way of showing me signs that I’m on my way.

Speaking of being on my way, my flight is about to board! ๐Ÿ™‚ There is no place like home!
