The Most Beautiful Thing Happened Today

For the first time on my journey, the most magical thing happened today.

I don’t have children, but perhaps this is what it is like when you watch your baby take their first steps. For me, “A Christmas Song” is my baby and today I watched it take some pretty gorgeous first steps.

As a composer, my only wish is for people to share my songs as their own and for the first time this has happened.

It may not be Carnegie Hall, but that made it even more special. I sat in awe of the beauty of this very special Holiday Concert.  Even before I heard “A Christmas Song,” I was so enraptured in the voices and the songs. I listened to the voices of these amazing kids sing their favorite Christmas songs, and on the program – I saw a name I knew so well… but didn’t at the same time.

A funny thing happened, I started to tear up during Frosty the Snowman. I love Christmas music so much that its always so surprising and such an amazing feeling for me to be part of a canon of Christmas favorites.

There really isn’t any more I can say about what happened today except to share. I do want to say a big Thank You to the two people who helped make this happen, Michael and Annie Roberts. Who were early supporters of me and believed in this song and me. You guys are truly special and wonderful.

I apologize for the video quality. I am a composer, not Scorcese! 😉
